ACCURACY · CONTEXT · ACCOUNTABILITY
Readers should know what they are reading.
News and opinion are labeled
Reported stories and explainers are distinct from editorials, opinion, community notices, party statements, and sponsored material. A reported explainer based on public documents identifies those sources and does not imply firsthand interviews.
Evidence and attribution
Writers should verify factual claims, link to primary sources when available, and distinguish what a source says from the writer’s interpretation. Statistics need their year, population definition, and geographic context. Quotations must be accurate and attributed.
Corrections and updates
Readers can request a correction from any article. The editorial desk reviews the request; submitting one does not automatically change a story. Material corrections should be explained in a visible correction note. Updated articles display their update date.
Political affiliation and disclosure
The newspaper is associated with the Nationals Party. That affiliation must remain visible. Source links and directory entries do not imply that outside publishers, photographers, or photographed people endorse the party.
Photography and representation
Stock photographs are illustrative and credited. They must not be presented as photographs of an event we reported or as evidence that the pictured subjects were interviewed. Contributors must have rights to supplied images and should provide captions and credits. This edition uses real photography, not AI-generated photographs.
Submissions and privacy
Tips, letters, announcements, events, and directory suggestions go to a private editorial review queue. Submission does not guarantee publication. We may contact the sender before considering publication; identifying information should not be published without an appropriate editorial review.
