The North Star Times exists to make room for African American life in its fullness: family, creativity, enterprise, learning, history, and the work of building community. We want readers to find both pride and useful information here.
Our founding editorials introduce that purpose. Our first reported explainers draw from public primary sources, with links so readers can examine the evidence themselves. As coverage grows, reader tips and local perspectives will help shape the questions we pursue.
